Double wall paper cup/bowl machine is a kind of automated machine specialized in producing double wall paper cups and bowls. This kind of machine usually consists of paper feeding system, molding system, heating system, crimping system, unloading system, etc. The working principle of Double wall paper cup/bowl machine mainly includes the following key steps:
Paper Preparation: The machine will have a special paper storage area or feeding device for pre-cut or rolled paper raw materials. These papers are usually of a certain thickness and quality required to ensure the strength and durability of the final product. For example, if double-layered paper cups are produced, food-grade paper materials are typically used.
Paper feeding action: The paper is transported from the storage area to the molding area by a series of conveyors, such as rollers and belts. The speed and accuracy of the paper feed needs to be precisely controlled to ensure that each sheet of paper reaches its designated position accurately. In the feeding process, there may also be some sensors or monitoring devices for detecting the position and status of the paper, in order to timely adjust the feeding speed or deal with possible paper jams and other problems.
Mold forming: when the paper reaches the forming area, it will enter the pre-designed mold. The shape and size of the mold determines the final shape and size of the paper cup or bowl. For a Double wall paper cup/bowl machine, there are usually two molds, one for the inner layer and one for the outer layer. The molds press the paper into the desired shape by mechanical pressure or other means. For example, in the case of a paper cup, the mold will press the paper into a cylindrical cup shape; in the case of a paper bowl, the mold will press the paper into a bowl shape.
Hot press molding (optional):
In some Double wall paper cup/bowl machines, a hot press is added to the molding process in order to better shape the paper and increase its strength. The mold is heated to a certain temperature by means of a heating device, which causes the paper to soften and form under heat and pressure. This hot press molding method can make the shape of paper cups or bowls more regular, and the combination between the double layer structure is more tight.
Mouth / Bowl Rolling: After molding, the mouth or bowl of paper cups or bowls needs to be rolled to increase its strength and sealing. The crimping device will crimp the edge of the cup or bowl mouth inward or outward to form a smooth edge. The extent and shape of the crimping can be adjusted to suit the product requirements.
Post-rimming process: After the crimping is completed, there may be some subsequent processing steps, such as shaping and trimming the crimped edge to ensure the quality and appearance of the crimped edge.
Bonding or nesting: for paper cups or bowls with double-layer structure, it is necessary to combine the inner and outer layers together. This can be done by gluing, i.e. applying glue or other adhesives between the two layers of paper to make them stick together firmly; or by nesting, by placing the inner layer of cups/bowls into the outer layer of cups/bowls to take advantage of the difference in shape and size of the two to achieve a tight bond.
Drying or curing: If an adhesive is used, it needs to be dried or cured after the double-layer bonding in order to allow the adhesive to take full effect and ensure the stability of the double-layer structure. This can be done by heating, ventilating or other means to accelerate the drying process of the adhesive.
Finished product roll-out: After a series of processing steps as described above, the finished product of double-layer paper cups or bowls has been completed. The unloading device pushes the finished product out of the mold or production line for subsequent packaging or collection. Unloading can be by mechanical pushing, air blowing out or other suitable means to ensure that the finished product can be smoothly removed from the machine and will not be damaged.
Quality inspection and screening: During the unloading process, quality inspection may be carried out at the same time, such as checking the shape and size of the paper cups or bowls, the bonding of the double-layer structure, and the presence of breakage. Products that do not meet the quality standard will be separated by screening device to ensure the quality of the final product.
